Tom Amerson, a Master Plasterer, died March 17, 2009. He was born in Abilene, Texas in 1928. Tom moved to Phoenix in 1946 where he met Betty, his wife of 59 years, and they were married in 1949.
Mr. Amerson became a master plasterer and worked in that profession for 41 years. He was meticulous at his work and always strived for excellence. He also loved to fish and could never find enough time to enjoy fishing.
Mr. Amerson retired in 1988 and moved to Payson in 1990. He volunteered his time at Payson Care Center as well as with the Helping Hands Ministry through his church. He also served as deacon and board member for his church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two children, Gloria McCullar and Alan Amerson; four grandchildren, Christine Shelby, Jessi Wilson, Jennifer Aust and Ron Amerson; six great-grandchildren, Gregory, Kevin, Waylon, Cassandra, Austin and Lucinda; and his cousin, Sharon.
