Richard Curl died Nov. 7, 2009 at Flagstaff Medical Center from a long battle with COPD and heart problems.
Born Dec. 7, 1930, he was a resident of Deer Creek Village, a small community outside Payson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Marie Curl and his son, Steven Glenn Curl. He is survived by his current wife, Barbara Sue Curl; son, Mark Pickens Curl; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Curl moved to Arizona in 2005 from southern Indiana for health reasons; he had been a farmer there for more than 50 years. He served in the Navy on board the USS Rainier AE5 for four years during the Korean War prior to settling down as a farmer.
There will be no viewing or service other than a small gravesite farewell at the Gisela Cemetery at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11.
