Evelyn Grace Morrison
1949 - 2009
Evelyn Grace Morrison, who was loved by all who knew her, passed away early Thursday morning, Nov. 12, 2009, with her family at her side.
Evelyn, daughter of Clemons Rardin and Cora Luebbert, married Jim Morrison on Sept. 29, 1949. Evelyn and Jim lived in Pomona, Calif. for more than 40 years, before moving to Payson for their retirement.
During their 12 years in Payson, Evelyn found a new haven at the Senior Center, joining the dancing group “Just for Kicks” and attended the aerobic classes there as well. She gained the everlasting friendship of so many wonderful ladies who took her in and showed her the youthful side to retired life.
She was also a member of the Lunch Bunch who met once a month to share stories of grandbabies and swap recipes.
Often you’d find Evelyn enjoying her daily walks, dancing, assembling puzzles, watching “Wheel of Fortune” and tending to the garden. She was a bundle of sunshine to which no cloud could ever cover.
She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, two children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A small, closed casket memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20 at the Mountain Meadows Memorial Park, under the black walnut tree.
She will be forever cherished in the hearts of all the lives she touched. She shall not be forgotten. Her spirit will be carried on by those who loved her.
