Marjorie M. Pierce

Marjorie M. Pierce was born May 30, 1939 in Wichita, Kan. and died Nov. 12, 2009 in Payson.
She lived in Kansas until moving to Arizona in 1955.
She married Dennis L. Pierce Sept. 2, 1956 in Phoenix. He opened an automotive business where Marjorie was the perfect business partner, controlling inventory and accounting. They traveled back and forth between Phoenix and Payson for several years moving to Payson in 1981 and continuing their business partnership here.
Marjorie and Dennis had a wonderful 53-year marriage. She was a loving, wonderful mother to their only child, Carol, and truly enjoyed being a grandmother, writes the family.
She was an active member of the First Southern Baptist Church, very involved with the children’s programs and was a liaison between the church and the Payson Community Christian School.
She had a quiet elegance and was always helping others.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Carol; grandsons, Geoffrey and Dennis; sisters, Mary Maltkie and Patricia Bosley; many nieces and nephews and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash St., Payson.
