Frank E. Gardner 1922 - 2009
Frank E. Gardner, 87, of Payson, died Sept 21, 2009. He was born April 3, 1922 in Argenta, Ill.
He married the love of his life, Gail Owens, July 26, 1942 in Old Monroe, Mo. After their marriage, Mr. Gardner shipped out to the South Pacific where he fought as a soldier in the U.S. Army.
He also served in the Korean War and had a distinguished 20-year career in the military and retired as a captain in 1961.
Upon retiring, he moved his family to Scottsdale, where he worked for Motorola for 18 years.
Eventually the Gardners bought a cabin in Pine where they spent many wonderful summers. Finally in 2003, the Gardners moved to Payson and made it their permanent residence.
Mr. Gardner is survived by two sons, Mark Gardner (Lynn) of Pine and Steven Gardner (Melody) of Virginia; grandchildren, James Gardner and Shawn Gardner (Elin) of California, Gina Harms and David (Rochelle) Alberti of Minnesota, Brittany Gardner and Elizabeth Gardner of Glendale, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail; and daughter, Susan Alberti.
Interment is at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa.
