Roy Jay Larson died Oct. 14, 2009 at Hospice Compassus in Payson. He was born April 8, 1910 in Calumet, upper Michigan. to Alfred and Maria Larson.
He led a full and healthy life, not even needing a walker until he was 99.
His hobbies were playing ice hockey, golf and music. He played saxophone, clarinet and harmonica in a jazz band during the 1930s in Chicago, Ill.
During World War II he was an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Navy.
Following World War II he had a career in accounting and lived in Albuquerque, N.M. He lived in Payson the last two years.
His wife, Edith Larson preceded him in death in 1989 in Albuquerque, N.M. They had no children.
