Alvin Hamilton

Alvin Hamilton, of Payson, passed away April 3, after losing his fight to cancer. He was born Jan. 27, 1926 in Rushville, Neb. Raised in the Sandhills of Nebraska, he worked on ranches until joining the U.S. Navy in 1944.
He married Phyllis King at Chadron State Park in 1948.
Mr. Hamilton worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 37 years as a station agent until he retired in 1985 in Cody, Wyo.
He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing in Wyoming. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, square dancing, bowling, horseshoes, golf and many hobbies.
Mr. Hamilton was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Payson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis King Hamilton of Payson; two daughters, Candice Felts of Payson and Vicki Taylor of Mesa; son-in-law, Rock Taylor of Mesa; four grandchildren, Michael Martin Warburton of Phoenix, Jesse James Warburton of Gering, Neb., Bonnie Felts White of Lovell, Wyo. and Daniel Warburton of Scottsbluff, Neb.; six great-grandchildren, five sisters and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Doll Hamilton of Gordon, Neb.
“He will be sadly missed by his family and remembered for his dedication to family, work, and God. He loved life and lived each day to the fullest with a sense of humor all of his own,” writes his family.
