Arthur Robert Morrison
1931 - 2010
Arthur Robert Morrison passed away peacefully Aug. 10, 2010 at his home in Christopher Creek. He was born April 4, 1931 in Bayonne, N.J. to John Stewart Morrison and Mabel Marie Stedder Morrison.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force as a radar operator.
Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Thelma Updergraff, with whom he had three children: Sharon Lynn (Michael) Kairis, Patricia Eileen (George) Ohmstede, and Arthur Robert (Michelle) Morrison Jr.
He married Marjorie Pauline Love in 1976, and together they raised her three children: Leonard Alan Ferrell, Brian Paul Ferrell and David Aron (Kelley) Ferrell.
He was a loving husband and a caring father to all his children. He was a grandfather of 10 and a great-grandfather of six.
Mr. Morrison was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served several years as the president of the Sunday school of the Christopher Creek branch.
He was a great lover of music and made numerous recordings. He loved to pick a tune on the guitar, make jewelry for his friends and was a friend to everyone he met. The door to his home was always open to anyone in need or to someone who just needed to visit.
Near the end, he was watched over and cared for by his beloved “Margie.”
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Christopher Creek building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 546 W. Ashby Apple Drive, Christopher Creek. The viewing will be held at 2 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 3 p.m.
Donations in Mr. Morrison’s name be made to Hospice Compassus of Payson or to the Christopher Kohl’s Fire Department.
