Harold Jr. Hulbert
April 29, 1931 - August 13, 2010
Harold Clifford “Clem” Hulbert Jr. was born April 29, 1931 and passed away Aug. 13, 2010 at the Hospice House in Payson.
He was the son of Harold C. Hulbert Sr. and Addie Lea Hulbert. He was raised in Tonto Basin, but as a young adult moved to Tempe. He married Marilyn Kay Toot on June 27, 1956. They lived in Tonto Basin where they raised their four children, Allan, Tim, Lane and Roxane.
Mr. Hulbert was employed with ADOT for 35 years. In his younger years he was a cowboy at several ranches and worked on dairies in Tempe.
As Payson started to grow, Mr. Hulbert built side roads in Payson, Star Valley, Oxbow Estates and Tonto Basin for Preston Dooley.
He and his family lived at Bray Creek Ranch under the Rim where they spent many happy years and later moved to Payson. He was preceded by his oldest son, Allan Clifford Hulbert. He is survived by his lovely wife of 54 years, Marilyn; and his children, Tim (Carol) Hulbert, Lane (Leann) Hulbert and Roxane (Wayne) McMillen; nine grandchildren, Michael, GT, Nickie, Shawna, Justin Ty, Christina, Amber, Cole and Beau; eight great-grandchildren; and his cat, Sugar.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 12 at Tonto Basin Schoolhouse.
