Frank Rekart, 76, a Payson resident for 15 years, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009. He was born in 1933 in Ottoville, Ohio.
He moved with his family to the San Fernando Valley suburb of Los Angeles in 1946. He graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School and then attended San Fernando Valley College. He served four years in the Air Force as a staff sergeant.
From 1956 to 1977 he worked for System Development Corporation in Santa Monica, Calif. as a systems analyst; spending 1969 through 1971 in Alaska; and then for a few years had a small custom jewelry and repair business.
He was also a real estate agent for a short time.
He retired to Payson for a more peaceful life.
He is survived by his two sons, Jim and Steve; and his two sisters, Eileen and Alice.
A memorial service is scheduled for his friends in Payson at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5 at the Payson Senior Center, located at 514 W. Main St.
