Kathleen Dana Scholtz
Kathleen Dana Scholtz, 80, of Young, died Jan. 1, 2010.
She was a resident of Young since 1980 and visited Young regularly since 1960. She nicknamed it “God’s Country.”
Her husbands, a son, Steven Jennings Scholtz, and a daughter, Dana Lynn LaBarbera, preceded Mrs. Scholtz in death.
A daughter, Donna Kay Conner and sons, Paul Carlton and Samuel Reed Scholtz, survive her. In addition she leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Scholtz loved music and sang professionally in “Sweet Adelines Barbershop Quartets” for a decade and recently was a member of Pleasant Valley Singers and a member of the LDS, Young Branch, choir. She loved cooking, gardening and photography.
She graduated from Phoenix Union High School, went on to business college, was an equal partner in the Community Cotton Gin Company and worked for a hearing aid company.
Mrs. Scholtz will be greatly missed by all who knew her, writes her family.
The memorial service is at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Young.
