Dave DeMarco died Jan. 18, 2010 at Scottsdale Shea Hospital after a weeklong bout with double pneumonia.
He was born Oct 10, 1956 in South Amboy, N.J. After graduating high school in California, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving four years with a tour in Germany.
In 1991 he graduated University of Texas Dallas, with a bachelor’s of art degree in math.
He resided in Payson for about six years and became a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
He was an avid poker player (Texas Hold ’em was his favorite).
He is survived by his daughter, Brandi DeMarco, and grandson, Dylan Ferrell, both of Jacksonville, Texas; two sisters, Debbie Steward of Payson and Yvonne Qualls of Tacoma, Wash.; mother, Joan DeMarco of Puyallup, Wash.; father, Dan DeMarco of Rusk, Texas; and his brother-in-law, Steve Steward, who was also Mr. DeMarco’s best friend.
He will be sadly missed by all who know him, writes his family.
He will be cremated at Messinger Payson Funeral Home. His ashes will be kept by his daughter and later scattered at Lake Tahoe, Nev., one of his favorite places to visit when he lived in California.
Services will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 22.
