Michael Lanning

Michael Lanning, a 1986 graduate of Payson High School and a resident of Mesa, Ariz., died July 5, 2010 in Mesa.
He was born July 1, 1968 in Hancock, Mich. to James L. Smith Jr. and Nancy J. Smith. Mr. Lanning was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy J. Smith; daughter, Jessica Lanning; son, Michael Lanning; and sisters, Deborah Hopper and Gail Wright.
He worked as a cook for the last 15 years and was very involved with Incident Command Page.
Services were July 13 at Melcher Mortuary, 6625 E. Main St., Mesa.
