Marjorie Anderson Matus
Marjorie Anderson Matus was born Dec. 15, 1915 in Connersville, Ind. Her family moved to Golden, Colo. when she was a young girl.
She graduated from Golden High School in 1934. The next day she married John L. Matus also of Golden. They were married for 65 years.
“Margie” was preceded in death by her husband, John; and daughter, Jeannie.
Her son, John W. Matus, who with his wife, Olive owned Creekside Steakhouse for 37 years, now resides in Payson.
Mrs. Matus was well known for her volunteer work with the original Fire Belles. She was a lifelong quilter and her quilts will live on as a reminder of her love and generosity.
She is survived by her son, John; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
“All who have (her) quilts that will keep her memory alive,” writes her family.
