1934 - 2010
Arizona resident Arlee Dennis, 76, died Nov. 1, 2010 at her home in Glendale, Ariz. A Celebration of Life will be held for her at a later date.
Mrs. Dennis was born March 6, 1934 in Glendale, Calif. to Arnold Albert Krabbe and Dolores Lee Krabbe. She married Richard Bohn Dennis in Tujunga, Calif. in 1955. They had three boys, Richard, Troy and Reese.
Mrs. Dennis was a top-notch escrow officer and manager whose career spanned 30 years in the high-pressure real estate industry in Southern California. She enjoyed buying and renovating single family homes, a hobby that she continued to enjoy up to the time of her death, despite the fact that she was confined to a wheelchair for the past 18 years due to a tragic horseback riding accident in 1982.
She grew up in Tujunga, Calif. and went to Verdugo High School. She raised her children in the San Fernando Valley and moved to Green Valley, Calif. in 1980 where she lived until moving to Payson in 2005.
A talented artist, Mrs. Dennis created many amazing works in various media, including oil and watercolor, pen and ink, and most notably, elaborately decorated gourds.
She was a strong woman who raised three boys as a single mother. She loved life and continued to thrive and remain independent her whole life.
She is survived by her sister, Karen; sons, Richard Dennis, Jr., Troy Dennis and Reese Dennis; five grandchildren, Kimberly Dennis, Kristen Dennis, Troy M. Dennis Jr., Christopher Dennis and Stephanie Dennis; and three great-grandchildren.
