Alicia Lynne Baker
August 26, 1988 - August 24, 2010
Alicia Lynne Baker, born Aug. 26, 1988 in Indiana, died Aug. 24, 2010 in Mesa. She is the daughter of the late Patricia Ann Baker and Carl Baker.
Ms. Baker was born in Bloomington Ind. and attended Payson Community Christian School and had many college credits before she ever started college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She quickly mastered the college curriculum and classes there and was able to graduate at the top of her class, summa cum laude, in May 2007 at the age of 18. After that she went right to work studying to become a lawyer in Sacramento, Calif. and later at Arizona State University in Tempe, where she graduated from law school, passed her bar exam in the top 10 percentile and was practicing law at the tender age of 21.
“We mourn the passing of Alicia Lynne Baker, our friend, daughter, sister and granddaughter, who was inwardly as well as outwardly a truly beautiful person,” writes her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ann Baker, whom she missed greatly; and her sister, Jamie. Ms. Baker is survived by her father, Carl Baker; sister, Carrie Fusco; grandparents; as well as her puppies; and special friend, Will.
She loved her farm animals as a small child and, as an adult, her small dogs. She truly enjoyed having people around her at all times and could converse with young and old alike and had been very active in all phases of state politics.
Her cremains were taken to Indiana for burial.
“Dust to dust, her mortal remains, remain here on earth while her beautiful soul has gone on to know neither pain nor sorrow. Her wonderfully gifted brilliance will be sorrowfully missed, but she will light up the heavens for all eternity,” writes her family.
