Our beloved matriarch peacefully earned her angel wings on Nov. 22, 2011 at the age of 96. She was born in 1915 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Albert and Mabel Bradley.
Mrs. Lay was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Leroy Lay; and brother, Albert Bradley Jr.
She met her husband, Leroy, upon his return from World War II, at their mutual employer, Walsh Bros Office Equipment. Together they logged 69 years with that great company. Upon their retirement, in 1983, they moved to Star Valley, Ariz.
Her time was well spent with family and friends, including her volunteer work. Her interests included the Payson hospital’s Pink Ladies, Rim Country Museum and AARP’s tax service, where she used her bookkeeping skills to help the elderly. She was a great Scrabble competitor and schooled us all in cards, writes her family.
Mrs. Lay is survived by her three children, Debbie Blazer, David and Brad (Leslie) Lay; grandchildren, Doug (Kim) and Chris Blazer, Stephen, Richard, Stuart and Ryan Lay; great-grandchildren, Nate (Hollie), Nick, Chris and Zack Blazer; three great-great-grandchildren, and her beloved Walsh and Hebern families; as well as sister, Grace MacMullin.
“She was loved by all. We will miss you Mom,” writes her family.
The celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
