Doris M. Maddux

Doris M. Maddux, 92, went to be with the Lord Jan. 2, 2011 in Payson. She was born July 14, 1918 in Tacoma, Wash. to Julia and Henry Gonseth.
She graduated from Northwest Bible Institute (now Pacific Northwest Bible College) in Marysville, Wash.
She and her husband were very active and involved in establishing churches in Alaska and Arizona.
Mrs. Maddux is survived by her daughter, Judy Totland of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Jack (Edith) Maddux of Soldotna, Alaska and Payson; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, along with many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Paul P. Maddux; and son, Dick (Richard) Maddux.
Mrs. Maddux was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, who was always ready to share and express her love of the Lord with family, friends and strangers alike.
We will all miss her distinct humor, wit, and wonderful giving spirit and love, writes her family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 28 at the Foothills Assembly of God, 12831 E. 41st St. in Yuma.
