Emmett Jr. L. Brazier

Emmett L. Brazier Jr. was born July 19, 1923 in Franklin, Texas and passed away Jan. 6, 2011 in Payson.
Mr. Brazier served in the United States Army during World War II, served in the United States Navy Reserves after World War II and retired from the United States Navy Reserves as a lieutenant commander. He graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and was employed by the Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1954 until he retired in 1985.
He was an active member of Kiwanis of Los Alamos, served as an elder at the United Church of Los Alamos, and was a Scoutmaster for both the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of Los Alamos.
Mr. Brazier moved to Payson in 1996, where he spent the rest of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett L. Brazier Sr.; mother, Elbert Walker Brazier; sister, Bernice Sandifer; and brother, Milton Brazier.
Mr. Brazier is survived by his wife, Helene Brazier; and sons, Emmett L. Brazier III and Daniel P. Brazier of Flagstaff; as well as one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
