Rosalia Marie Strunk
September 26, 1942 - July 11, 2011
Rosalia (Rose) Marie Strunk passed away in her sleep the morning of July 11, 2011, in her home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 26, 1942 in Rand, W.Va. to Theron C. Stone and Mary Bonovitch.
Rose was the loving wife of Tom H. Strunk, both retired to Payson from Orange, Calif.
She had two surviving children, Michele Krier of Ashland, Kan. and Michael Doyle of Indiana. She is survived by one brother, Russell Anderson; and four sisters, Brenda LuPorter, Fay Gregory, Juanita Humphreys and Pat McWhirt. She had another brother, Emerson Stone, deceased.
Rose worked at Gene Renck office in Fullerton, Calif. until she and her husband retired to Payson in 2003. She loved living in Payson as the house they bought reminded her of where she grew up in West Virginia.
The family gives special thanks to her caregivers, Debra St. Ledger and Susan Grover who were with her every day for the last year. Also a very special thanks for all their help and compassion goes to Hospice Compassus of Payson. Especially Caroline Yost and Judy.
A memorial service will start at 10 a.m., Monday, July 18 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 901 S. Westerly Road. Rose will be put to rest after the service at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park.
