Robert V. Law
April 28, 1924 - July 20, 2011
Robert V. “Bob” Law went home to be with his Lord on July 20, 2011. He was born April 28, 1924 in Salina, Kan., third child of Methodist minister Charles H. Law and his wife Harriet M. Law.
After growing up in Missouri, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1944 and became a B-17 pilot, flying 35 bombing missions over Germany. Upon returning home from the war, he married the love of his life, Monda W. Hamilton. They moved to Phoenix in 1953 where he worked as an escrow officer for many years.
In the late 1950s they became frequent visitors to Payson and the Rim Country, and in 1959 built a cabin on Rim View Road, which still stands today.
In 1966 they purchased Mountain View Farm in the Diamond Point area and he soon opened his own company, Bob Law Real Estate. In the early 1970s he owned and operated Ray’s Western Lodge. In 1975 he and Monda left Payson and traveled to the northwest and California for several years before settling in Chino Valley, Ariz.
After Monda passed away in 1990, Bob moved to Panama City, Fla. to be close to his son, Ray. He returned to Payson in 2006 where he resided until the time of his passing.
Mr. Law is survived by his son, Ray, and daughter-in-law, Bernita, of Payson; grandson, Marty Law and his wife, Naomi, of Moore, Okla. His wife of 45 years, Monda, and grandson, Robert “Bobby” Law, preceded him in death.
A private family graveside service will be held at a future date.
He will be greatly missed.
