Mauricia M. Balcerzak
Mauricia M. Balcerzak, 76, of Payson, passed away July 25, 2011. She was born April 1935 in Dodge City, Kan.
She was married to Raymond Balcerzak for 38 years. She always talked about how he made her laugh and kept her smiling.
After 19 years of working for the U.S. government as a property manager, she and her husband Ray, retired to East Verde Estates in 2000.
She was an avid book reader, enjoyed her knitting, counted cross stitch, and loved to cook and bake.
She stayed active with the women in East Verde Estates playing bunko and helping with the East Verde Estates fund-raising rummage sales.
She was also a member of NARFE.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; mother, Lucile Lutz of Dodge City, Kan.; brothers, Robert (Judy) Lutz of Gypsum, Kan. and Thomas (Jamie) Lutz of Dodge City, Kan.; sisters, Karen (Denny) Yows of Upper Lake, Calif. and Rosalie (Larry) Wilkerson of Dodge City, Kan.; daughters, Nina (Tim) Hinton of Prescott, Nadine (Tom) DelFavero of Apache Junction and Nanette (Kevan) Pace of Show Low. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Lutz; her son, Norman Schultz; and her daughter, Nancy Schultz.
A vigil will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 901 S Westerly Road.
Mass will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 2 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 S. St. Phillips Street, Payson.
