Kenneth Frederick Wagner

Kenneth Frederick Wagner, 82, of Payson, passed away May 29, 2011. He was born Sept. 8, 1928 in San Diego, Calif.
During the ’60s, Kenneth served as chairman for the Tucson General Hospital Board. He had a long successful career in banking. He was the manager at the Grant Campbell Valley Bank for 17 years and in the ’70s became the manager of the Great Western Bank of Payson, he also was a bank manager in Riviera, Ariz. He was also in international banking in the Palau Islands.
After retiring from banking he became a real estate broker and owned Payson Real Estate and Investment Company.
Mr. Wagner was an avid ASU fan and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth F. Wagner Jr. and wives, Barbara “Murph” Wagner and Corinne (Wagner) Cook.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Wagner; daughter, Jennifer Barnett of Tucson; brothers, Frank (BJ) Wagner and Richard Wagner, both of Phoenix; grandsons, Dr. Brad Barnett (Erika) of Pinetop and Brian Barnett of Tucson; son-in-law, George Barnett of Tucson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wagner is also survived by stepchildren, Kelley Donovan Fanizza of Payson, Kevin Donovan of Kirkland, Wash., Rob Fanizza of Payson; and step-grandchildren, Ryan Fanizza and Michael Fanizza, both of Scottsdale.
A visitation service will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, June 3 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 4 at the Ponderosa Bible Church located at 1800 N. Beeline Hwy., Payson.
The family requests donations to the Humane Society of Central Arizona or the Ponderosa Bible Church in Payson.
