Kathleen Rose Moore
1932 - 2011
Kathleen Rose (Rapp) Moore, born Dec. 22, 1932, was called home from this life and into the loving arms of our Lord on June 4, 2011.
She grew up in Buffalo, N.Y., moved to California where she married, raised a family and worked as a registered nurse for 10 years.
Mrs. Moore came to Payson five years ago and became an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, the Sodality and volunteered at The St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.
She is survived by her three children, Matthew J. Moore of Payson, Marianne C. Moore of California and Maureen H. Walsh of Pine; two brothers and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald C. Moore; her brothers, William Rapp and John Rapp; and her parents, Edwin F. Rapp and Cecilia M. Rapp.
Mrs. Moore had a passion for gardening that saw hundreds of trees and thousands of shrubs and flowers planted over her lifetime. Every place she lived was an artist’s palette that she filled with living beauty and tended with incredible love and care.
She cherished her family and faith with a passion that saw her through numerous trials in her life and inspired strength and compassion in anyone who came to know and love her.
“While we mourn for our own loss of Kathleen’s loving and cherished presence in our lives, we also rejoice that Kathleen is now free from her suffering and reaping the rewards of heaven that she so richly deserves,” her family writes.
Services were held at St. Philip’s church, Thursday, June 9.
Donations may be made in her name to Hospice Compassus of Payson, 511 S. Mud Springs Rd., Payson, AZ 85541.
