Susan J. Vincent
1930 - 2011
Susan J. Vincent entered into her new life, with her professed savior, Jesus Christ, on June 14, 2011.
She was born in Jefferson, Iowa on June 13, 1930, as an identical twin. In 1950 she married her childhood sweetheart, Foster Vincent. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Sue and Foster made their home in Estherville, Iowa, raising their three children there. In 1978 they moved to Mesa. In 1989 they moved to Payson, where, together, they designed and constructed their retirement home.
Mrs. Vincent was active in her church, Community Presbyterian, and held the offices of ruling elder and deacon, working actively on the call committee for new pastors, as needed. Her other activities included an immense interest in needlework, and she was a meticulous record keeper of temperatures and weather conditions. She was also an avid sports fan and supporter of all the Arizona professional teams.
Mrs. Vincent is survived by her husband, Foster; her three children, Andrew of Mesa, Sara (Vince) Agnifili of California and Kristine (Steve) Spence of Kansas; and her twin sister, Sara “Sally” (John) Schippers of California. Other survivors include four grandchildren who reside in California and Nevada; and two great-grandchildren of California.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 19 at Payson Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Building Fund of the Community Presbyterian Church in Payson.
