Ida Mae Griffin
July 3, 1917 - March 2, 2011
Ida Mae Griffin, Majestic Rim, died March 2, 2011 in Payson. She was born July 3, 1917 in Mulvane, Kan., the daughter of Claude L. and Anna Stull Ousley.
She graduated from Arlington High School in 1935 and Hutchinson Community College in 1939. She also attended Wichita University and Sterling College.
A Hutchinson resident since 1952, moving from Arlington, she was a secretary for Ark Valley Electric Cooperative for 27 years retiring in December 1979.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, the Legion Auxiliary, Unit 0068 for more than 50 years, and the Pioneer Senior Center.
She was also a Senior Volunteer for RSVP.
In December 1940, she married Cecil Goering. He died in December 1948 and she married Homer Griffin on March 16, 1952. He died April 9, 1995.
Survivors are a son, Gary (Judy) Goering of Payson; three grandchildren, Dale Goering, Denise Goering and Christy Goering; four great-grandchildren, Kyle (Aubrey) Goering, Aspyn Goering and Hannah Goering.
She was preceded in death by son, Galen; a grandson, Brent Goering; sisters, Maxine Dryden, Ethel McFrederick and Ruby Wislen; and brother, Gene Wright.
Memorial services have been held.
