Olga Hyduke Belsher
Olga Hyduke Belsher passed away March 8, 2011 just two weeks short of her 97th birthday.
Mrs. Belsher was the beloved wife of Arizona Territory native, Harold E. Belsher who preceded her in death in 1980. One of her four sons, Leslie, also preceded her in death in 1988.
She is survived by her other three sons, Harold (Judy) Belsher, Kenneth (Judy) Belsher and Brian (Carol) Belsher. Other surviving family members include 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a sister, Jean Babich. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other family members that were dearly loved.
Mrs. Belsher’s Serbian immigrant parents, first settled in Chisholm, Minn. where Olga was born on March 22, 1914. The family moved to Ray, Ariz. in 1919 and then to Scottsdale in 1921. They lived on a farm on what is now Civic Center Plaza.
Mrs. Belsher and her nine siblings attended the Little Red Schoolhouse and Scottsdale High. She graduated in 1932 and also attended Lamson Business College where she first met her husband.
Olga and Harold lived in the Valley most of their lives, but since 1952, particularly enjoyed their Diamond Point Ranch in Payson.
Mrs. Belsher sincerely loved all family members and friends, especially children.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday March 12 at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. A funeral service will be held at the same location at 10 a.m., Sunday, March 13. Burial will follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd. A reception will follow at 6245 E. Marilyn Rd. in Scottsdale.
