Gayle Morgan Burton
Gayle Morgan Burton, 76, of Payson, went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2011. He was born in Earth, Texas in 1934.
Mr. Burton worked for Arizona Public Service for 35 years as a journeyman lineman in Phoenix. He retired from APS and moved to Payson in 1990.
He loved being retired and living in Payson. He loved attending church and visiting with family and friends. He loved windmills, golden barrel cactus and gardening. Growing tomatoes was his favorite pastime. He loved sitting for hours on his bench, drinking coffee, taking in the beauty of his pine and apple trees and waiting for one of his many friends to drive by with a honk or a simple wave. Better yet, he loved for a friend to stop by and share stories, as he loved to talk for hours.
He is survived by his three beloved children, Lindy Harlan Burton, Randall Gayle Burton and Tammy Janae Molnar; six grandchildren, Minde, Chris, Brandi, Nick, Brittany and Chandler; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marinell Burton.
He was deeply loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed, writes his family.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 7 at Payson Church of Christ, 401 E. Tyler Parkway.
