R. Wayne Tussing
1930 - 2011
R. Wayne Tussing, of Mesa, passed away May 5, 2011.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was the second oldest of four boys born to Alfred and Edythe Tussing.
He and his wife, Betty Jean, had been married for 41 years and share seven children. They moved to Payson in September 1969.
The couple has owned businesses in Gila Bend, Payson, Prescott and Mesa. In Payson they owned and operated a distributorship for Shamrock, started and owned Builders Supply and had a drywall business. He was also “responsible” for placing the “old boxcars on Main Street.”
Mr. Tussing was a pilot and had many hobbies. One of his favorites was fishing at Roosevelt Lake.
He was loved by many and will be missed always, writes his family.
He is survived by his seven children, Rodney (Jamie) Tussing, Gregg (Harolyn) Tussing, Kristi (Dennis) Yates, Melissa (Harry) Howell, Robert Bott, Daniel (Joyce) Bott and Charles Bott; and brother, Gary Tussing. He has 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean; two brothers, Bill and Darrell Tussing; and granddaughter, Jennifer Bott.
A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 10 at 1130 S. Horne in Mesa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 19413 S. Sossaman Rd. in Queen Creek.
