Mr. Villemonte was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 868 Bomber Squadron II in the 13th Squadron in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Villemonte left Michigan and became an ardent Arizonian, living in Phoenix while working at Sky Harbor Airport since the ’50s and building his own home in Strawberry.
He and his wife Laurel loved their home in Strawberry and were members of the Zane Grey and Pineberry Square Dance Club. He was also a member of the Rim Stones Rock Club, the genealogy society and Pine-Strawberry Chamber of Commerce. He loved fishing and any kind of dancing.
Mr. Villemonte is survived by his wife, Laurel O’Key Villemonte of Strawberry; stepdaughters, Margaret (Peggy Sue) Hanson and husband Russell of Quail Valley, Calif. and Mary Kathleen (Kitty) Owens and husband Doug of Anza, Calif.; and three stepgrandchildren, Sarah, Jessica and James of Fenton, Mich.; nephew, David Villemonte of Fenton, Mich.; nieces, Donna Jones and husband Larry, formerly of Mackinaw Island, Mich. and Robin Fiske and husband Tim of Gregory, Mich.; cousins, Lillian Pelland of Livonia, Mich., Mary Cawley of Port Richey, Fla., Margi Jean McTigue of Famington Hills, Mich. and Lenore McKinney (Baldwin) of Livonia, Mich.
Mr. Villemonte was preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Shelagh Laidlaw; mother, Lillian Violet Cox; father, Charles Francis Villemonte; and only brother, Robert Villemonte.
