Linda Barrett DeMichael
July 24, 1944 - May 27, 2012
Linda Barrett DeMichael, born July 24, 1944 in Muroc, Calif. to John Travis Barrett and Oneda Stuckey Barrett, died May 27, 2012 in Payson, with close friends at her side.
She grew up in Denton, Texas where she was involved in many activities including the Denton High Host and the Hi-Lite Club at Denton High School, graduating in 1962.
She later moved to Arizona and settled in Phoenix. She worked for the City of Phoenix for several years before retiring in Payson.
Around Payson, Mrs. DeMichael was known as “the cat lady” because of her love for all animals, especially for cats. Her life was actively dedicated to the rescue of abused and abandoned cats, often nurturing them to health, finding homes or making them a part of her family.
The loves of her life were her cats, Dandy, Dijon and Majik. She loved her family, friends and pets passionately, and leaves behind many fond memories. Her bright smile, caring ways and thoughtfulness of others will long be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. DeMichael was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Barry Mack. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Reyne Coley of Dallas, Texas; niece, Jamie Leigh Mack; nephew, James Michael Mack of Denton, Texas; cousins, Margaret Dale Stone and Julia Ann Stuckey Garcia of Denton, Texas; second cousins, Lacy Nekodah Stone Michna, Uriah Benjamin Stone, Caleb Carrigan Stone of Krum, Texas; special friends, Joyce Soule of Michigan Center, Mich., Judy and Clint Whitfield, Bend, Ore.

Funeral services were handled by Avenidas in Avondale.
