Johnny Harold Bebout
Johnny Harold Bebout was born Sept. 19, 1928 in Purcell, Okla. to John H. Bebout and Nina L. Rhoten.
He spent his childhood on the family farm in Purcell and as a young man he went to California to work and was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in Korea.
After his service in the Army, he returned to California to work on farms and building irrigation canals. He moved to Arizona in the early 1950s and began his life-long career in road construction. In 1955 he met and married Edna Harrison. They lived in the Valley for many years with their two daughters and then retired in Payson in 1991.
Mr. Bebout is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna; daughters, Ylonda Boyle (Curtis Rask) and Greta (Dean) Cronin; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Walker, John Heath Bebout, April Cronin, Preston (Michelle) Boyle, John (Valerie) Cronin, Russell (Christa Goble) Boyle, Michael (Kelli) Cronin, Allen (Angela) Cronin, Anthony (Nikki) Cronin, Kevin Boyle and Billy Cronin; great-grandchildren, Chloee, Caylee, Jameson, Noah, Colten, Shanna, Jenessa, Emree, Ryker, Teagen, Crew and Lucy; and his faithful boxer, Lola. Mr. Bebout is also survived by five brothers and three sisters that live in Oklahoma and hundreds of extended family and honorary grandkids, the Payson High School Lunch Bunch.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 913 S. Ponderosa St., Payson, with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at 4 p.m. in the Mesa City Cemetery in Mesa.
