John “Jack” Albert Broadston

John Albert “Jack” Broadston, 84, of Gentry, Ark., died Dec. 14, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, Ark. Born June 7, 1928 in Bridgeport, Okla., he was the son of Andrew and Ura Logan Broadston.
Mr. Broadston was a mechanic and pilot.
He married Shirley McCord on Dec. 19, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was a Navy and Air Force veteran serving both in World War II and Korea. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Arizona. He moved to Gentry in 2001 from Payson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard and Bill Broadston; sisters, Pauline Bell, Dorothy Jackson and Doris Close.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Gentry, Ark.; son, Jeff Broadston and wife Susana of Decatur, Ark.; daughter, Michelle Owens, also of Decatur; five grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; sister, Betty Flowers of Glendale; and brother, Hasten Broadston of Mesa.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22 at Falling Springs Church, Decatur, Ark., with Wil Gardner officiating.
