Lyndon “Lindy” Harry Kelly

Lindy Kelly was born in Woodstock, Vt. on Oct. 27, 1927 and passed away on Jan. 27, 2012 due to complications of lung cancer.
Mr. Kelly was blessed with an incredible spirit, zest for life, and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
His early years were spent at Kurn Hattin Homes in Westminster, Vt. and in Woodstock. Upon his graduation from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1945 and proudly served his country as a plank owner aboard the U.S.S. Midway. Following his distinguished military service he returned to Woodstock and on July 5, 1947 married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth “Bette” Daly.
The couple became the proud parents of four wonderful children, Corinne “Corky,” Sandy, Danny and Jeff.
In 1956 the Kelly family journeyed westward to Bisbee, Ariz. where they resided for nearly 12 years. Mr. Kelly worked at the Bisbee Daily Review as a printer and advertising manager. In 1969 the couple moved to the Phoenix area and Mr. Kelly joined Walsh Bros. Office Furniture as purchasing manager, a position that he held until his retirement in 1984.
Following his retirement, the Kellys moved to Pine, Ariz. and became active members of the mountain community until moving back to the Phoenix area in 2004 where they resided in Trilogy at Vistancia.
Mr. Kelly was a man of many talents, including authoring a marvelous book. Following many years of painstaking research, his literary efforts were rewarded with the publication of “Great Gramma Anne’s Scrap Book,” a compilation of recipes, remedies and cures utilized in the mid-1800s.
