Don Roger Duggan
Don Roger Duggan passed away on Feb. 2, 2012 at the age of 81 after an extended battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). He was born in Lyman, Okla. in 1930.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He attained the rank of chief petty officer in the Navy Medical Corp before retiring after 20 years. He was employed as a chemical engineer with IBM Corp., retiring after 22 years. He was a charter member of the Payson Bird Busters Skeet and Trap Club.
Mr. Duggan is survived by his wife of 62 years, Johnie Grace Duggan; six daughters, Donna Mallet (Bill), Christie Harrington (James), Elizabeth Missal (Stephan), Nancy Haler (Dale), Norma Richardson (Chris) and Sharon Burton (Rick); brother, Eugene; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Payson. He will be interred in a private service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
