Keith Ferdinand Nielsen
September 20, 1932 - January 1, 2012
Keith Ferdinand Nielsen was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather. He was born Sept. 20, 1932 on a farm in Friend, Neb.
A Payson resident since 1997, he peacefully passed away Jan. 1, 2012 after suffering many years with lung problems.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marlene (Wilson) Nielsen; a daughter, Corinne Meyers of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; a son Ricky K. Nielsen of Payson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Nick and Paul Hirsch and Marlene Nielsen; three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Shelby and Jay Hirsch; two brothers, Hubert Nielsen of Brownsville, Texas and Lyle Nielsen of Cottonwood, Ariz.; and a sister, Rachel Hansen of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, F.C. and Naomi (Gentry) Nielsen; and sister, Charlotte Ruhl.
Mr. Nielsen was the happiest when he could start working his garden. He loved to watch the seeds grow. His work years were spent in sales, he knocked on many doors selling his products. In later years he went to school to learn the locksmith trade, which proved to be a very satisfying profession.
A memorial celebration is scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9 at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 204 W. Airport Rd., Payson, Ariz.
