Wilburn B. Liley
October 8, 1921 - June 21, 2012
Wilburn B. (W.B. or Web) Liley, born Oct. 8, 1921, Rt. 2, Parma, Mo., passed away at 90 years of age on June 21, 2012.
Mr. Liley was raised on a farm and was known for his ability to break horses and mules. He was also a hunter. He came to Phoenix in 1948. He married his first wife, Helen (deceased), and raised four children, Ronnie, Linda, Jimmy Joe and Rich. There are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He worked in a cotton gin and a mine before settling down at Reynalds Metal Company for 31 years as a millwright. Aleoa Aluminum later took over Reynalds.
He married Anita Yost Liley on Oct. 25, 1968 and enjoyed many years on their mini-ranch riding horses and raising animals. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. He made many trips back to Arkansas to visit his mother, Willie Mae (deceased), his father, Otis (deceased), his brothers, Charles, Johnnie and Spencer (deceased), and sister (deceased).
Mr. Liley was ill for several years with C.O.P.D. and is now at rest. He will be missed by his friends, writes his family.
Mr. Liley will be buried at the Veterans Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix. There will be a viewing at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 901 S. Westerly, Payson.
