Born Carol A. Honkey in St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Banozich and her family moved to Phoenix, Ariz. in 1962. She worked as a hairdresser until becoming the first woman Clairol Color specialist.
She later found her calling working with brain damage patients at the A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix. After retirement you could see her hard at work at the polling booths or volunteering at the Veterans Administration Cemetery.
Mrs. Banozich was preceded in death by her son, Prentice C. Trimble; her beloved husband, Jerry Banozich; and her sister, Shirley Marie Harden.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Jean Croft; brother, Randy Honkey; two daughters, Becky Hodge and Carol Lee Blakey. She also leaves eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Banozich spent the last 18 months in Payson at Powell House where she received wonderful care and had many amazing caring friends.
