Samuel Warren met Jesus face-to-face after graduating into heaven peacefully on May 12, 2012 at Payson Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 7, 1939 in Joplin, Mo., the second son of Jacob Frank and Patricia.
Growing up in a family with six siblings, life provided many bonded, happy, fun times, along with challenges experienced in larger families.
As a child, Sam’s kindness, care, humor and friendship he so eagerly expressed, was always made available to his brothers and sisters, which he continued to share throughout his life.
After relocating to Southern California, he attended Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, and then joined the Army where he served in Korea.
Upon his return, he married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara, and they were married for 53 years.
Mr. Warren worked as a ground equipment mechanic for United Airlines in Los Angeles for 37 years, after which he relocated to Payson in 1997 enjoying his retirement.
He resided in Torrance, Calif., where he and his wife raised their four children.
Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his first born son. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Tamara Zeigler of California, Christy Davis of Colorado, Julie Brown of California and Kayla Warren of Arizona; son, Jeff Warren of California; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 16 at Messinger Mortuary, 900 S. Westerly Road in Payson.
