Cherry Brooks is no longer with us. She died Oct. 28, 2012. Mrs. Brooks was born in Prescott, 73 years ago.
She and her first husband, Ed Hillier, became happy parents of a baby boy, Keith, in 1959. He was still a baby when Ed died. In 1977, she married Bill Brooks and enjoyed a very happy nine years together until his death in 1986.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Keith Hillier and his wife Becky; two sisters, Carlee Alonzo and her husband Nick and Dee Johnson; one brother, Carl Jerome (Jerry) LeRoy and his wife Helen; two stepdaughters, Jackie and her husband Robin Awalt and Cheryl Greenfield; plus nieces and nephews.
As a young girl, Mrs. Brooks learned about our Creator, Jehovah, whose purpose is for mankind to live peaceably on a beautiful earth without dying. She knew that the dead are in God’s memory and will sleep until he resurrects them to the real life, a world free of pain, suffering and death. Rev 21:3-4, which is the fulfillment of our Creator’s original purpose. To share the knowledge of this wonderful hope with others, gave Mrs. Brooks great joy.
“So many of you supported her through her difficulties. The memories of your love and kindness will always comfort her sister and all who loved her. Among those who were so wonderful to her are her close neighbors, the paramedics, her doctor, Lynne Vigil N.P., the police, the food service, Brighton Gardens Hospice and her loving spiritual family and even those who did not know her name. Our, heartfelt love and gratitude to all,” writes her family.
At Mrs. Brooks’ request, no memorial service will be held.
