Sarah Sandheger of Sun Lakes, Ariz. passed peacefully on Nov. 14, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley.
Mrs. Sandheger was born Dec. 14, 1935 in Cuero, Texas to Manuel and Juanita Longoria.
She was the devoted wife of Richard Sandheger whom she married on Aug. 27, 1957. They shared 55 years together living in Chandler, Young and Sun Lakes.
Mrs. Sandheger is survived by her husband, Richard; three daughters, Loretta Carlson, Susan Hornung and Mary Shupe; five grandchildren, Jennifer Montoya, Ian Carlson, Zachery, Nicholas and Freddy Hornung. She is also survived by her sisters, Annie Ruiz and Gloria Leos; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sandheger had many close friends and loved to work in her garden and had a special affinity to hummingbirds.
She was an excellent cook and her specialties were Arroz Con Pollo and burritos. She loved to cook for her family and friends.
“Sarah will be remembered by everyone for her kindness and sense of humor,” writes her family.
Services were held Saturday, Nov. 17 at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, with committal to follow in Young Cemetery.
