Eleanor Jane Inscho
September 23, 1926 - September 7, 2012
Eleanor (Ele) Jane Edmonson Inscho, born in Globe on Sept. 23, 1926, passed away on Sept. 7, 2012 in Tucson, at the age of 85.
Mrs. Inscho lived in Payson from 1964 through 2005, where she was instrumental in the town’s formation and growth. She and her husband took over management of the town’s first bus line, Mogollon Stage Lines, and later, the accounting businesses, Ele Inscho Accounting and SHELLI of Payson.
In addition to being a longtime Soroptomists member, she also worked on the Payson Roundup newspaper as both reporter and editor. Mrs. Inscho served as rodeo chairman, chamber of commerce president, and appointee to the town’s first interim city council. She was subsequently elected to serve on Payson’s first full council.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Lowell; her parents, Loyde and Velma Edmonson; and brother, Lloyd Edmonson. Ele is survived by her sons, Lyle Inscho (Sharon) and Duane Inscho (Megan); and grandchildren, Chris Inscho, Trevor Inscho, Brianna Inscho and Nicolas Inscho; as well as her sister, Shirley Barney.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 at Canyon Del Oro Baptist Church, 9200 N. Oracle Road in Tucson.
Mrs. Inscho will be laid to rest in Payson Pioneer Cemetery.
