Larry A. McCauley

1947 - 2013

USAF Master Sgt. Larry A. McCauley (Ret.) was born Oct. 4, 1947 in Daytona Fla. He joined the Air Force after high school. He was a Vietnam veteran and spent a lot of time in Germany. He died March 20, 2013.
He was most fittingly given the name The Papa when his first grandchild started to talk. He and wife Lesle have lived in Payson 17 years.
He worked for Bill Armstrong; Chaparral Pines; Bronco; and retired (again) from the Door Stop. He worked part-time at the Circle H Car Wash after his second retirement.
After that he could often be seen on his quad picking up cans, trash and brass off the Houston Mesa Road and surrounding woods. He spent every fourth Thursday with his church, Unity of Payson, picking up trash on Highway 87.
He loved to cook, he loved to talk, he spoke to everyone especially children, most of all he loved his family and friends.
If you see trash on the side of the road, please pick it up and throw it away for Larry.
