Donald D. Nyberg, 87, of Payson, passed away Jan. 26, 2013 at Payson Open Door. He was born March 11, 1925 in Clay Center, Kan. and served our country in naval aviation during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Blanche Bergstrom on Nov. 28, 1946.
Mr. Nyberg graduated from Clay Center High School and Kansas State University majoring in commercial architecture, which became his career until his retirement.
Since retirement, he has kept busy creating western and wildlife sculptures among other projects.
His ministry in recent years has been making and giving pocket-sized copper crosses to everyone he would meet.
Mr. Nyberg is survived by his wife, Blanche; son, Robert (Ann); daughter, Nancy (David); six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth; and sister, Nola.
A private memorial service was held in the family home in Mr. Nyberg’s honor.
