October 21, 1930 - November 30, 2012
Gordon Metcalf was a man who loved life and lived it to its fullest.
He was born Oct. 21, 1930 in San Bernardino, Calif. and was called home to be with his wife, Eva Mae, on Nov. 30, 2012.
Mr. Metcalf was a man who stood strong for his beliefs and fought for them with complete conviction. He loved the town of Payson and was very active as a citizen. He and his wife had their home built so that they could look at the Rim from their living room. They moved to Payson in 1997 from Anaheim, Calif.
Mr. Metcalf loved to travel and he owned two classic cars that he took to car shows, where he proudly won several awards. He truly enjoyed the whole environment of the car shows and always looked forward to them.
He is survived by his three children and their families, Michael Metcalf of Midland, Texas, Cherie Bowers from Yorba Linda, Calif. and Danelle Martin of Temecula, Calif. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was blessed with the gift of gab and his influence on us, his great stories, his love for his family and friends are all going to be greatly missed.
Services are pending.
The family is asking that memorial donations in Mr. Metcalf’s name be made to support local charities.
