Leroy “Lee” Victor Neff

Leroy (Lee) Victor Neff passed away June 10, 2013 in Payson. He was born Jan. 15, 1920 in Los Angeles, Calif. to parents Leonard and Annie (Parker) Neff.
He retired in 1980 from Boeing, formerly McDonald Douglas after 40 years. He was in the U.S. Army and served in the South Pacific during World War II.
He married Jane Cross in 1957. She helped him raise his children before passing away in 1984 in California.
After 72 years in Hawthorne, Calif., Mr. Neff decided to sell his home and move to a smaller town. He settled in Payson to be close to his son, arriving in 1992.
An active volunteer for the Payson Senior Center, he helped deliver meals and transported people to and from the center. While attending Bible study at the Senior Center, Mr. Neff met Irene Stokes, who became his wife on Aug. 7, 1993 and became a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include son, Terry (Denise); daughter, Sandy (Joe) Coleman; stepson, Clive (Denise) Stokes; stepdaughter, Carol (Tim) Meyers; grandchildren, Nicole (Ben) O’Connor, Danny (Ashley) Coleman, Christopher (Yaxvile) Coleman, Kevin (Nikyta) Coleman, Kyle Coleman and Karen (John) Coughlin. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Austin, Camdon, Jayden, Luke, Hunter and a baby boy due in August.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 15 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Tyler Parkway in Payson, with a visitation at 9 a.m.
Donations in Mr. Neff’s name may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
