Lou Marilyn Lawton

Lou Marilyn (Harwell) Lawton was born in Moreland, Ark. and came to Arizona in 1951
She graduated from Chandler High School in 1954 and Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1957 as a registered nurse. She started her career in nursing at Visiting Nurse Service in Phoenix. She then worked at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Pyle Memorial Hospital and participated in a nursing exchange program in Alaska. She retired after working as a relief nurse with the Lutheran Health Network and serving as a floor supervisor at Mesa Lutheran.
Mrs. Lawton was an active member of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Kenneth.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Allen Lawton Jr. of Marysville, Wash.; and her daughter, Victoria Gates of Everett, Wash. She is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Brandt of Payson; and her sister, Sue Farrar of Phoenix. Mrs. Lawton had eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 17 at Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church, 507 W. Wade in Payson.
