Marion “Corky” Allen Geissel
July 22, 1928 - December 31, 2013
Marion Allen Geissel, born July 22, 1928, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 with family by his side.
Better known as Corky, he was a beloved husband, father and papa.
Corky spent his career serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. Upon marrying Elaine, the love of his life, the two of them started their own family and traveled abroad as military duty required. After retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant, Corky and his wife moved to Phoenix, Ariz. They eventually decided that Payson, Ariz. was to be their final destination and built their dream home in the heart of Beaver Valley. They remained loyal residents of the community for 29 years.
An avid builder of model airplanes and boats, Corky loved the process of constructing and creating. He was well-loved by anyone he met and was a caring and compassionate man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Corky was also the chairman of the Beaver Valley Fire District, a post in which he took great pride.
Corky was preceded in death by Elaine, his beloved wife of 57 years on Oct. 6, 2013. He is survived by their children, Clarice Geissel-Rathers, Howard Geissel and Brian Geissel; five grandchildren, Wade Geissel, Genevieve Geissel, Jessica Geissel-Battle, Garrett Geissel and Heather Geissel; and brother, Hank Geissel.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
