Grace “Fitzhugh” Ann Kendall
February 26, 1940 - February 24, 2014
Grace Ann (Fitzhugh) Kendall passed Feb. 24, 2014 in Payson, Ariz. after a long battle with COPD. She was born in Ajo, Ariz. to Monte Paul Fitzhugh of Jolly, Texas and Dorothea Blanche (Carner) Fitzhugh of Winkelman, Ariz. Feb. 26, 1940.
Grace graduated, Ajo High School in 1958, then moved to Phoenix until graduating from business school. She then moved back to Ajo and began working for the telephone company. She married Karlin (Boog) Kendall in 1960.
In 1962 they moved to Burley, Idaho for a short while, then returned to Ajo where they remained until moving in 1966 to Santa Ana, Calif.
She was a full-time housewife until going to work for Montgomery Ward. She remained employed until moving to Payson, Ariz. in 1980. She worked at DES for two years before going to work for Karen Sneed Accounting in Payson until she retired in 1999.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothea Paulene (Fitzhugh) Templeton of Payson; and her brother, William (Bill) Fitzhugh of Payson.
Grace and Karlin had three children: Wyman Kendall of Payson, Brad Kendall of Payson and Karla Kendall of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan and Kelsie Kendall, Dylan Gundry-Kendall and Karli Kendall; one great-granddaughter, Ecko. Grace and Karlin adopted and raised two of their grandchildren while residing Payson.
Grace was greatly loved and will be truly missed by her family and friends. No services will be held per Grace’s wishes.
