Anthony Burlando told Santa exactly what he wanted for Christmas during Santa’s visit at the Swiss Village Lighting Ceremony, Friday, Nov. 28. Burlando wants a popular toy that can change from one object into another, and it’s called a transformer. The businesses in the Swiss Village Shops had a two-day event Friday and Saturday to kickoff the holiday season.

The annual Christmas toy drive known as Tamales for Toys will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Gerardo’s Italian Bistro, 512 N. Beeline Highway. Bring a new toy (unwrapped) to donate, and enjoy a homemade tamale dinner including beans, chips and a beverage. Cash donations will also be accepted. The event is presented by the Payson Fire Department and the Northern Gila County Firefighters Association.
